About the event

Join Michaela and Tina for a guided breath work class. We will go over how to breathe intentionally in specific patterns to get into a deeply relaxed state and release old energy. These techniques help to quiet the mind for meditation. We will be using Reiki and Sound healing drumming techniques to set the atmosphere for healing and alignment. Breathe along to the rhythm of a rawhide drum as we journey into the body and gently reconnect.

What is breath work?

Breath work is the practice of breathing in a specific pattern or with intent. This can help you reach deeper states of peace relaxation and assist with meditation. This can be especially helpful if you struggle to quiet your mind or remain relaxed during a meditation. Breath work can be done whether you are new or experienced with your meditation practice. It is a tool/technique used for many different applications.

What does the class do?/ class structure

Our breath work session will begin with a discussion. I’ll be taking the time to answer any questions or concerns and give guidance on what may occur during the session. It is normal to have your mind wander and experience physical sensations that the body may not be used to as we bring awareness back into the body. Myself and Tina will be there to guide you through these experiences should you begin to feel uncomfortable or experiencing any anxiety. Please know this is completely normal and a part of the process. As you practice you will be able to gain control of your mind and body as you breathe through the experience. I will be playing corresponding rhythms on a rawhide drum while giving verbal instructions on what pattern of breath to use. The breathing portion itself will last about 25 to 30 minutes as we build up to a fast rhythm and come back down to a slow relaxed pace.

For this event we will be providing floor cushions. We will not have clients in our reclining chairs because we need to maintain an upright posture.

Please contact Mindful Moon with any questions or for more details by DM or text message at 443-203-8451.
